Updated: Jul 23, 2022

Marvel kept the news rolling within their Animation Department. Updates came for three of the announced Disney + Series! We got the latest scoop for you Basement Dwellers!

Unfortunately if you were hoping for a Season 2 in 2022 your dreams will be crushed. Season 2 will be arriving to Disney + Early next year. Now that we got the bad news out of the way, we can tell you that Season 2 will pick up right where Season 1 left us with Captain Carter.

A trailer was screened for those in attendances and has not yet hit the interwebs, when it does we will post it here for you, however details about what were shown were revealed. Glimpses of what appeared to be Neil Gaiman’s Marvel 1602 storyline, Peter Quill and Ego, a giant Iron Man, and lastly a battle between the Asgardians and characters from Shang-Chi. The series will also mark a first for Marvel as a TV-MA.

Additionally, What If…? season 3 is also confirmed presumably for 2024.

X-MEN '97

Two bummers about this series. One we aren't getting it until the Fall of 2023. Secondly there was footage but this too has not been released online. Again if it does we will get the teaser up here A.S.A.P.)

Several internet outlets, that were in attendance, however are reporting out that the series picks up right where it left off in 97. Magneto returns in Charles Xavier's absence to claim he is the new leader of the X-Men. Clips showed the X-Men battling Trask's Sentinels, plus updated designs for many of the supporting mutants, like Cable, Nightcrawler, Sunspot, Forge, Bishop, and Morph. The artwork stays true to the 90s style and brings back the original cast.

Many of the surviving cast members from the original series are reprising their roles in X-Men ’97. Returning voice artists include Cal Dodd (Wolverine), Lenore Zann (Rogue), George Buza (Beast), Catherine Disher (Jean Grey), Chris Potter (Gambit), Alison Sealy-Smith (Storm), and Christopher Britton (Mister Sinister). New actors will fill the roles of both Cyclops and Magneto to replace Norm Spencer and David Hemblen, both who passed away in 2020. Original cast member Alyson Court previously confirmed her involvement with the revival last year. But she will not be reprising her role as Jubilee. An actress of actual Asian descent play this part while she voices another character.

Last bit of good news is, the creators have signaled that a season 2 is currently in the works.

Spider-Man: Freshman Year

So the extremely bumming news about this series is, we're not getting it until 2024. However a lot of details have been released including character designs of the villains Peter will face. The series seems to be a departure from the MCU Spider-Man we have come to know and love.

In addition to a variety of villians, Norman Osborn will appear in the series as a mentor to Pete instead of Tony Stark. Appearances from both Doctor Strange and Daredevil have been announced too.

The series has also been renewed for season 2, which will be titled Spider-Man: Sophomore Year.

Marvel Zombies Marvel Zombies capped the animation presentation for Marvel, unveiling Scarlet Witch, Abomination, Captain America and more would be the villains and the show would introduce heroes from Phase 4 into the series as our heroes, such as Red Guardian, Yelena, Kamala Kahn, Kate Bishop and Shang Chi. The series will also mark the first TV MA Series on Disney +, Marvel did not announce a premiere date but one would hope it's a 2023/2024 project.
